A 33-year-old man, Monsuru Musa, has been arrested in Abuja for allegedly impersonating his father, Musa Mohammed, during a promotion examination. The exam was organized by the FCT Civil Service Commission for staff of the FCT Fire Service.

The incident occurred at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) during the third day of the examination exercise. Security personnel, deployed following directives from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to prevent malpractice, apprehended Monsuru during the test.

During interrogation, Monsuru reportedly claimed his father was ill and had instructed him to sit for the exam. Discrepancies emerged regarding the father's age; Monsuru initially stated Mohammed was between 67 and 68 years old, while Mohammed claimed he would turn 60 in February 2027. Following statements made to Department of State Services (DSS) operatives, both father and son were handed over to the police for further investigation.
