Abuja motorist sentenced to prison for dangerous driving

A motorist, Obi Uduka, has been sentenced to one week in prison at the Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State following a conviction for dangerous driving and multiple traffic offenses in Abuja.

Uduka was apprehended on September 10, 2026, during a Mobile Court operation conducted by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) at the Dutse Alhaji Unit Command. He was driving a Pontiac Vibe when he was arrested. The charges included dangerous driving, driving license violation, vehicle license violation, and resisting arrest.

Presiding Magistrate His Worship Theresa found Uduka guilty following his arraignment. The FRSC stated that this conviction demonstrates its commitment to penalizing motorists who willfully endanger lives on Nigerian highways and emphasized that road safety is a collective responsibility.
