The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested Zazzayanu Halilu following the rescue of a 12-year-old girl in Abuja. The incident was discovered on October 2 during a routine patrol by the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit near the Airport Bridge Taxi Park.

Police officers became suspicious after observing a navy blue Volkswagen with tinted windows shaking while parked. Upon approaching and opening the vehicle, officers allegedly found Halilu sexually abusing the minor.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect had previously lured the girl to the same location to abuse her and had used threats to prevent her from reporting the incidents. A medical examination confirmed that the victim is approximately three months pregnant. The girl is currently receiving medical care, and the suspect remains in custody pending formal charges.
