Abuja police arrest two women for alleged child trafficking

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested two women, identified as Rose Daniel and Blessing John, for the alleged abduction and trafficking of children in Abuja. The suspects were apprehended in the Kuje Area Council on August 27, 2026, while attempting to flee with a four-year-old girl. The arrest was made possible after a resident witnessed the incident and alerted the authorities.

Investigations revealed that the suspects are repeat offenders. They were previously arrested in December 2025 for similar offenses, convicted, and released on bail after serving approximately five months in prison. Following their release, they allegedly abducted and trafficked four additional children to various parts of the country.

Police reports indicate that in a previous incident, two children were reportedly transported to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and sold to an accomplice for N1.5 million each. The rescued four-year-old has been reunited with her family, and the suspects remain in custody pending further legal action.
