Police in Uganda, Kenya, and Nigeria conduct multiple enforcement operations

Police forces across East and West Africa have conducted several operations resulting in numerous arrests and seizures.

In Uganda, the Uganda Police Force and Military Police impounded 30 vehicles in Kampala for traffic violations, including operating without number plates or using illegal sirens. In a separate intelligence-led operation in Kampala, 82 suspects were arrested for theft, burglary, and robbing motorists in heavy traffic. Additionally, in Masindi, four suspects were detained after police recovered 115 stolen smartphones.

In Kenya, officers in Nairobi arrested two suspects for the theft of Kenya Power electricity meters in the Lucky Summer area.

In Nigeria, the Cross River State Police Command arrested 60 suspects following an incident at Watt Market in Calabar. The arrests followed an alleged assault on a police officer by roadside traders during an attempt to impound a motorcycle. The command stated the incident involved the officer being confronted and having his uniform and equipment tampered with.
