Abuja Property Development Company launches new affordable housing projects
The Abuja Property Development Company (APDC) has launched new initiatives to address the housing deficit in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The company recently inaugurated housing units at APDC Homes in the Karasana District and unveiled new projects at Hilltop Residence, Usman.
To support young people and single residents, the inaugurated phase includes studio apartments and one-bedroom units. These studio apartments were priced at N15 million each and reportedly sold out quickly. FCT Minister Nyesom Wike noted that these developments aim to provide affordable accommodation for various demographics, including school leavers.
To make homeownership more accessible, APDC is facilitating mortgage options. Acting Managing Director Akeem Aderogba explained that residents, particularly civil servants and low-to-middle-income earners, can secure homes by paying an initial deposit of 10 to 20 percent. The remaining balance can be financed through mortgage institutions.
APDC has also collaborated with the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria via the National Housing Fund (NHF) and the Federal Government Housing Board to assist civil servants in managing payments for affordable housing.
