Abunai Deka launches 40th anniversary project with 4K film revivals

The legendary Japanese crime drama series ‘Abunai Deka’ has launched the ‘ABDK40+’ project to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The year-long celebration, titled ‘ABUNAI DEKA 40TH DAI-KANSHA YEAR’, will feature several major events starting in October.

A centerpiece of the project is the ‘MOVIE 4K REVIVAL’ scheduled from October 2026 to March 2027. This initiative will feature seven works digitally remastered in 4K from original master film, including six theatrical films and the 1998 TV special ‘Abunai Deka Forever TV Special ’98’, which will receive its first theatrical screening. These screenings will also be available in 4DX.

Other anniversary activities include a pop-up shop at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse from October 3 to October 18, featuring newly produced merchandise. Additionally, a special film concert will be held at Zepp Yokohama on October 24, featuring a live band performing music from the series alongside film footage.
