Indonesian banking and maritime sectors see major developments

In Indonesia, several banking and maritime developments are underway. Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) is addressing a corruption case in Jember involving the misappropriation of Micro Business Credit (KUR) funds between 2021 and 2023. The East Java High Prosecutor's Office has named a fifth suspect, a collection agent accused of using fictitious debtors and unauthorized identities. The estimated state loss is approximately Rp41.48 billion. BNI has responded by strengthening its credit governance through enhanced verification and digitalization.

In the housing sector, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) is supporting the government's 3 million houses program. BRI has distributed Rp427.5 billion in housing program credits to 1,619 debtors in the Jakarta region to support developers and building material suppliers.

Additionally, the Indonesian Port Business Association (ABUPI) is undergoing organizational restructuring for the 2026–2030 period, appointing Muhammad Willy as General Secretary. ABUPI has also entered a partnership with PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) to improve technical standards, safety, and professionalism within the national port sector.
