ABVP workers allegedly attacked during flag hoisting in Tripura

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Tripura Pradesh has alleged that its workers were assaulted by leftist elements in Churaibari, North Tripura, on August 15. The organization claims the attack occurred while members were attempting to hoist the national flag to celebrate Independence Day.

ABVP state secretary Rabi Halder described the assault as serious and life-threatening. Four workers were reportedly admitted to Dharmanagar District Hospital following the incident; one worker was later transferred to GBP Hospital in Agartala for advanced treatment due to their serious condition. The organization also alleged that the national flag was disrespected during the encounter.

In response, the ABVP has announced that students and youth will gather at Churaibari on August 25 to hoist the national flag as a form of democratic protest, vowing to continue their demonstrations until those responsible are brought to justice.
