Abyan Governorate establishes Consensus Coordination Council

In Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan Governorate, a consultative meeting was held to introduce the Consensus Coordination Council. The council is designed to represent the districts of Sarar, Sabih, and Rasad.

Under the patronage of Governor Mukhtar bin al-Khadr al-Rabash al-Haythami, the initiative aims to create a unified framework for community coordination and development. Dr. Yasser Baazab, deputy head of the preparatory committee, clarified that the council is intended to support, rather than replace, official local government institutions.

The meeting addressed critical service, security, and developmental issues facing the Yafa districts. Key priorities include improving infrastructure, specifically the strategic Batiss–Rasad–Ma'arban road, to reduce geographic isolation and alleviate the hardships faced by residents in the region.
