Abyan Governor orders security campaign to apprehend kidnapping suspect

The Governor of Abyan, Major General Dr. Mukhtar bin al-Khader al-Rabash al-Haythami, has ordered a joint security campaign to apprehend a suspect accused of kidnapping a citizen from Aden and transporting him to Abyan.

The suspect, identified as Abdulhakim Baqis, a former member of the Security Belt, is accused of kidnapping Kamal Salah bin Shaila following a dispute regarding a land sale. The directive follows a mandatory arrest warrant issued by the prosecution in Aden and a formal request from Aden security authorities.

Governor al-Rabash emphasized that Abyan will not serve as a refuge for fugitives or those operating outside the law, stating that no individual or entity will be permitted to use past influence to evade accountability. The security campaign aims to ensure the safe release of the kidnapped citizen and the transfer of the suspect to the appropriate judicial authorities for legal proceedings.
