Governor Mukhtar al‑Rabash Leads Development Projects in Abyan, Yemen

Governor of Abyan, Dr. Mukhtar bin Al‑Khader al‑Rabash al‑Haithami, met with local authorities and community leaders to stress national unity and cooperation for security and development. He highlighted the need to support youth from Yafaʿ and praised their patriotic actions.

Under his direction, maintenance work on flood channels and agricultural dams in the Khunf area began, clearing the Maharia channel and preparing the Hija dam to improve water flow, protect irrigation infrastructure and boost agricultural output. The projects aim to reduce flood damage and increase water efficiency for thousands of acres of farmland.

During a field visit to the Sirar and Rusud districts, the governor laid foundation stones for several infrastructure initiatives, including a new road segment, a water supply scheme for Sirar, and a solar‑powered water system for the Zaghur area of Rusud. These efforts form part of a broader strategy to upgrade water services, expand renewable energy use and enhance overall living standards in Abyan.
