Abyan Governorate Launches Rainwater Drainage Project on Watan‑Dhoba‑Rused Road

Governor Dr. Mukhtar bin Al‑Khadir Al‑Rabbash Al‑Haithami of Yemen’s Abyan province laid the foundation stone for a rainwater drainage system on the Watan‑Dhoba‑Rused road. The project, funded by the local authority, aims to protect the vital highway from flood damage, ensure continuous traffic flow and improve safety for thousands of residents during heavy rains.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including the commander of special forces Dr. Abdul‑Salam Al‑Jumali and local directors of water, sanitation and public works. The drainage works are part of a broader development plan targeting roads, water, health and education services across Abyan’s districts.
