Abyan road project requires urgent inclusion in 2027 development plan

Nabil Salem Abboud, a former official and former deputy chairman of Yemen Mobile, has called for urgent action to include the strategic Batis-Sarrar-Rasad-Ma'arban road project in the government's 2027 development plan.

Abboud urged local authorities, tribal leaders, and residents of the Sarrar, Rasad, Sabih, and Khanfar districts in Abyan Governorate to unite their efforts. He emphasized that the next three months are critical for submitting a comprehensive file to the Ministries of Public Works and Highways and Planning and International Cooperation.

While community contributions and technical support from Abdulrahman Abu Zar'a al-Muharrami have assisted the project, Abboud noted that these are insufficient for a project of this scale. He estimated that at least $10 million in funding is required to complete the remaining works over the coming years and called for official government or international financial support to end decades of local hardship.
