Abyan road rehabilitation project begins in Yemen

The rehabilitation and maintenance project for the Ja'ar-Al-Husn-Batees road has officially commenced in Yemen. The project, which has been a long-standing demand for residents of Abyan, Khanfar, and Yafa districts, moved into the implementation phase on April 4, 2026.

Spanning 17.4 kilometers, the project is self-funded by the Road Maintenance Fund and will be executed by Al-Khudairi Contracting, Trade, and Real Estate Development Company. The road serves as a vital artery connecting various regions and cities within the Abyan Delta, facilitating the movement of citizens, goods, and services while supporting agricultural and commercial activities.

The inauguration was attended by the Minister of Public Works and Roads, Hussein Awad Al-Aqrabī, the Governor of Abyan, Major General Dr. Mukhtar Al-Rabash Al-Haythami, and the Director General of Khanfar District, Mazen Belail Naji Al-Yousifi. The project aims to improve road safety and alleviate the daily hardships and accidents caused by the previous deterioration of the route.
