Abycine International Film Festival expands industry and community roles
The Abycine International Film Festival in Albacete is strengthening its impact through both industry development and community engagement. The festival has launched Abycine Lanza, an independent film market designed to connect audiovisual talent with financing and collaboration opportunities. Miguel Zamora, the provincial deputy for Culture, described the initiative as a key driver for the Spanish independent film industry.
Additionally, the festival has renewed its three-year partnership with the Association of Friends and Alumni of the University of Experience of Albacete (ALUEX). This collaboration features the ‘Jurado de la Experiencia’ (Experience Jury), composed of ALUEX members who evaluate films. For the first time, the ALUEX Award for best short film will include a 300-euro cash prize, aiming to foster intergenerational dialogue and active aging through cinema.
