AC Milan and Juventus miss Champions League qualification
For the first time since the inception of the Champions League in 1992, neither AC Milan nor Juventus Turin have qualified for the competition. This decline marks a significant shift for two of Italy's most historic clubs.
In response to a disappointing season that saw AC Milan finish fifth, owner Gerry Cardinale has implemented major changes at the club. Following the dismissal of Massimiliano Allegri, the RedBird fund head has overhauled the sporting and administrative leadership. Cardinale has recently increased his presence at the Milanello training center to engage with players and staff.
AC Milan has appointed Ruben Amorim, formerly of Manchester United, as their new head coach. To bolster the squad, the club has been active in the transfer market, notably spending 74 million euros on Gonçalo Ramos and 50 million euros on Diego Moreira. Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains with the club in a special advisor role.
