AC Milan appoints Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim

AC Milan officially announced that Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim will take over as head coach. Amorim, 41, most recently left Manchester United after an early‑year departure and previously enjoyed success with Sporting Lisbon. The club did not disclose contract length, though earlier reports suggested a deal running to 2028 with an optional extension.

The hiring follows a disappointing season in which Milan missed out on the Champions League, leading to the departure of former coach Massimiliano Allegri and several senior staff. Media also reported, and later denied, that Eintracht Frankfurt sports director Markus Krösche might join Milan, a claim the German club’s chairman rejected.
