AC Milan hires Ruben Amorim as coach as German technical staff plans fall through

AC Milan announced the appointment of Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim as the club’s new head coach. The hiring was confirmed amid a period of intense speculation about the team’s technical direction.

Earlier reports suggested that German technical director Markus Krosche and former Eintracht Frankfurt official Timmo Hardung would join Milan’s hierarchy. However, Eintracht Frankfurt blocked Krosche’s move, which also prevented Hardung from taking the intended sporting director role, leaving Milan without the expected technical staff.

Separately, midfielder Morten Hjulmand was mentioned as a possible target to reunite with his former Sporting Lisbon coach. According to Matteo Moretto, “There’s a fixed price for Premier League teams and one for Italian clubs,” but Milan currently sees no financial or squad‑depth reason to pursue the player, citing existing midfield options and the need for other exits.
