AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim sets out summer transfer targets

Ruben Amorim has been appointed head coach of AC Milan on a contract until June 2029, with an option to extend. Immediately after his arrival he began outlining the club’s summer recruitment plan. He flagged two former Sporting CP teammates – midfielder Morten Hjulmand and versatile forward Francisco Trincão – as priority arrivals.

Amorim also named Uruguay midfielder Manuel Ugarte, currently on Manchester United’s books, as a key target, with the Italian side prepared to meet the £35 million asking price. In addition, he stressed that American winger Christian Pulisic and defender Strahinja Pavlović are indispensable pieces for the rebuild, despite a lucrative New York City offer for Pulisic. The coach further outlined broader needs, seeking two defenders, a left‑wing‑back, an attacking midfielder/winger and a striker.
