AC Milan keeps Samuel Chukwueze after coach Rúben Amorim's decision
New head coach Rúben Amorim announced that Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze will remain at AC Milan, ending speculation that the player might leave. Amorim said the club will first look inside its squad for players who can excel in one‑on‑one situations, and Chukwueze fits that profile.
Chukwueze had spent the 2023‑24 season on loan at Fulham, where he contributed three goals and four assists in 23 appearances. Earlier this summer AC Milan entertained offers from Fulham, Turkish side Trabzonspor and others, but the club chose to retain him as part of Amorim's tactical plans. Since joining Milan, the 27‑year‑old has recorded eight goals and six assists across all competitions and is expected to be part of the squad for the upcoming pre‑season.
Amorim's decision reflects a shift from previous transfer‑budget considerations, prioritising existing players over new signings as Milan prepares for the new Serie A campaign.
