AC Milan negotiate for Sporting defender Gonçalo Inácio

AC Milan are actively pursuing Portuguese centre‑back Gonçalo Inácio, a key defender for Sporting CP. The player’s €60 million release clause is reportedly open to a discount, with Sporting indicating willingness to sell for around €40 million, though the club says no further reduction is likely. Talks between Milan and Sporting have begun, and former Sporting coach Ruben Amorim, now at Milan, has expressed strong admiration for Inácio and is reportedly in contact with the player.

Milan’s defensive overhaul follows a €74 million signing of striker Gonçalo Ramos and aims to strengthen the back‑line, which underperformed last season. While other targets such as Virgil van Dijk, Mario Gila and António Silva have been linked, Inácio remains the leading candidate according to reports.
