Mattia Liberali transfer saga intensifies as Milan and Como vie for the 19‑year‑old

AC Milan are working to re‑acquire the playing rights of 19‑year‑old midfielder Mattia Liberali, who left the Milan academy a year ago on a free move to Serie B side Catanzaro. Milan retain a 50 % sell‑on clause and a €6 million buy‑out clause, meaning a €3 million payment would activate the purchase.

Several Serie A clubs are tracking the player. Como have submitted a technical project and are ready to meet the €6 million clause, while Juventus, Sassuolo, Cagliari and Torino have also been linked as potential destinations. Milan coach Ruben Amorim is personally involved, and a video call scheduled for tomorrow will include Milan officials such as Paolo Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimović, Liberali’s agents and the player himself to decide if Milan will match the offer.

The decision will determine whether Liberali joins Milan’s first‑team squad or signs with another top‑flight club for the upcoming season.
