AC Milan targets Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari

AC Milan is reportedly targeting Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yasin Ayari as a potential long-term replacement for veteran Luka Modrić. The Italian club is looking to bolster its midfield options under manager Ruben Amorim ahead of the 2027/28 season.

Modrić, 41, is in the final year of his contract and may retire at the end of the 2026/27 season. Additionally, the futures of other midfielders, including Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ardon Jashari, remain uncertain. Milan has reportedly been monitoring Ayari since early 2025.

Ayari is entering the final year of his contract with Brighton, which expires on June 30, 2027, though the English club holds an option to extend it by one year. Reports suggest Brighton may seek approximately €40 million for the Swedish midfielder.
