AC Milan targets Red Star Belgrade prospect Vasilije Kostov

AC Milan has reportedly entered the race to sign 18-year-old Red Star Belgrade forward Vasilije Kostov. The club is considering a formal bid for the young talent, who has become one of Europe's most sought-after prospects.

Kostov had a breakout senior season at Red Star Belgrade with 21 goal contributions and has maintained his form at the start of the 2026/27 season, recording three goals and one assist in his first three league matches. He faces competition from several major clubs, including Inter Milan, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich.

Milan's interest in Kostov comes amid a planned restructuring of their attacking line. Manager Ruben Amorim has placed Rafael Leao on the transfer list, and the club expects to see the departure of Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez. While Kostov is viewed as a long-term investment rather than an immediate replacement, the club is seeking to secure its offensive future following the record-breaking signing of Goncalo Ramos.
