Academia de Artes Islas al Sur celebrates 20 years of ballet

The Academia de Artes Islas al Sur, under the Castro Municipal Corporation, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its ballet with the Encuentro Nacional de Danza en Chiloé. The event is scheduled for September 3, 4, and 5.

Activities include a joint performance by the Ballet and the academy's Youth Symphony Orchestra at the Castro Cultural Center on September 3. The following day will feature special classes in contemporary dance led by Enrique Faúndez and dance conditioning with Nicole Schonffeldt at the Freire Street Municipal Gymnasium.

The celebration concludes on September 5 with a pointe class by Andrea Puig Ávalos and the grand Encuentro Nacional de Danza at the Serrano Street Cultural Center. The closing event will feature participants and academies from Puerto Montt, Rancagua, and Santiago, alongside former students of the academy.
