Academic congresses scheduled in Dominican Republic and Uruguay

Several academic and professional congresses are scheduled to take place in October across Latin America and the Caribbean.

In Santiago, Dominican Republic, the Universidad Abierta para Adultos (UAPA) will host the “El Caribe en el escenario global” congress on October 14 and 15. Organized within the framework of the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUALC), the event focuses on humanist critical thinking and the strategic responsibility of universities. Topics include digital transformation, food sovereignty, sustainability, and academic cooperation, featuring specialists from Cuba, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic.

In Montevideo, Uruguay, the Universidad Católica del Uruguay will host the 2nd International and Ibero-American Congress on Early Intervention and Educational Inclusion from October 15 to 17. The gathering aims to address child development, educational inclusion, and the coordination between health, education, and public policy. Organizers noted the ongoing challenge of ensuring universal coverage for children requiring specialized developmental support.
