Academic excellence reported in Vietnam graduation results

Several students in Vietnam have achieved exceptional academic results in the 2026 graduation and university entrance season.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) reported three valedictorians graduating with perfect 4.0/4.0 GPAs: Le Nguyen Ngoc Vu (Mechatronics), Luu Cong Toan (Control and Automation Engineering), and Truong Ngoc Hai (Computer Engineering). This marks the highest number of students achieving a perfect GPA at the university in nearly 20 years. Additionally, five other students graduated as valedictorians with GPAs ranging from 3.77 to 3.95.

In the national high school graduation exam, Nguyen Ngoc Tran emerged as the national runner-up (á khoa) for the A00 subject group with a score of 29.75. A student from Dong Thap province, Tran achieved perfect scores in Mathematics and Chemistry. She is the highest-scoring incoming student at the University of Science, part of Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, and has chosen to study microchip design.
