Nicaragua educators support constitutional reform consultation

More than 20,500 educators, including teachers, university professors, and authorities, participated in a national consultation regarding a proposed partial reform to the Political Constitution of Nicaragua. The consultation, promoted by the National Assembly, was conducted across more than 295 virtual sites throughout the country.

Participants expressed support for the initiative, stating it would strengthen national sovereignty and protect constitutional rights related to free and quality education. Loyda Barreda, Director General of INATEC, noted that participation exceeded initial projections. Other representatives from the Ministry of Education and public universities also voiced their backing, asserting that the reform would provide a stronger legal framework for national development and the preservation of educational advancements.
