Academic researchers present health and nutrition studies in Colombia and Chile

Academic researchers and students from Mexico and Chile have presented recent health and nutrition studies at international forums.

In Colombia, faculty members from the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua (UACH) participated in the VI International Colloquium of Formative Research. Presentations included research on water insecurity and its nutritional impacts on vulnerable populations, the health risks of heavy metals in fish consumption among students in Chihuahua, and cardiometabolic risk indicators in university youth.

In Chile, students from Universidad Andrés Bello presented a study at the II Research Conference of Hospital El Carmen de Maipú regarding the implementation of Ley Mila (Law No. 21.372). The quantitative study, based on 1,772 surveys, indicated a positive perception of the law concerning dignified treatment and clinical information delivery, while suggesting improvements in the use of social names and informed consent processes.
