Academic research highlights environmental and industrial studies in Peru and Ecuador
Recent academic research from institutions in Peru and Ecuador addresses diverse environmental, health, and industrial management issues.
In Peru, studies in the Pasco province indicate significant dissatisfaction with the legal framework regarding environmental crimes. Research suggests that 80.2% of surveyed individuals believe current laws fail to adequately sanction corporate environmental offenses, while 100% of respondents noted that civil liability sentences do not guarantee fair compensation.
Additionally, an environmental assessment of the San Alberto River in Oxapampa, Peru, revealed microbiological contamination. While physicochemical parameters remained within permissible limits, there was a significant increase in total coliforms at impacted sampling points, attributed to domestic waste and pig farming effluents.
In Ecuador, nutritional research focused on developing functional turmeric gummies as a potential dietary supplement for women with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome. Other industrial studies in Quito proposed technical designs for occupational health and safety management systems at the Cruz del Sur Medical Specialties Clinic, as well as the implementation of 5S methodology to improve logistical efficiency at the SEDEMI logistics center.
