Academic studies analyze Sharia compliance in Aceh commercial transactions
Academic research from Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry examines various commercial transactions in Aceh through the lens of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh muamalah).
One study analyzes welding product orders in the Darul Imarah district of Aceh Besar. The research notes that while pricing and negotiations generally follow the principles of 'bai’ istisna’' (commissioned manufacturing), issues such as unclear product specifications, price fluctuations, and a lack of written contracts can lead to 'gharar' (uncertainty).
A second study investigates second-hand car trade-ins at showrooms in Banda Aceh, specifically focusing on the 'bai’ musawwamah' concept. The research highlights that price determination is based on vehicle condition, production year, and documentation. However, discrepancies in vehicle assessment and a lack of information transparency can lead to dissatisfaction between buyers and sellers.
