Academy Museum announces fall film lineup and programs

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures has announced its fall lineup of film series and educational programs, which includes anniversary screenings, filmmaker appearances, and special events starting in September.

Key highlights include a 50th anniversary screening of ‘Carrie’ featuring Sissy Spacek, and 30th anniversary screenings of ‘The Craft’ and ‘Get on the Bus’. Sofia Coppola will present a 20th anniversary screening of ‘Marie Antoinette’. The museum will also host a retrospective of John Carpenter’s work, titled ‘John Carpenter: Prince of Darkness with John Carpenter’.

Other scheduled events include the North American premiere of a 3D remaster of Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’, a tribute to actor Sam Neill, and a screening series devoted to South Korean actor Park Hae-il. The season begins on September 2 with the ‘Marilyn Monroe: Hollywood Icon’ series.
