Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow begins 2026/2027 year with campus relocation

The Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (ASP) has officially commenced the 2026/2027 academic year, marked by a relocation of its facilities. Due to a three-year thermal modernization project at the main complex on Matejko Square, the Academy has moved its operations to temporary locations.

The Faculty of Painting and parts of the administration are now operating at Bernardyńska 3, while the Faculty of Sculpture is located at Bronowicka 117. The Academy is expected to return to its modernized main building during the 2029/2030 academic year.

The transition was celebrated with a student-led procession inspired by Władysław Hasior’s 1984 performance, ‘Przeprowadzka’. The inauguration ceremony at the new Bernardyńska 3 site included the matriculation of new students and featured remarks from Rector Andrzej Bednarczyk and Sławomir Rogowski from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
