Académica de Coimbra launches ‘Isto é Gozar com Quem Estuda’ student movement

The Associação Académica de Coimbra (AAC) announced a new movement called “Isto é Gozar com Quem Estuda” to contest recent decisions of Portugal’s Ministry of Education. The association says the reforms to the legal regime of higher‑education institutions (RJIES) and the scholarship allocation regulations (RABEEES), as well as the “chaos” surrounding national exams, have placed both secondary and university education in crisis.

AAC pledged a series of political positions, awareness actions and direct responses in the coming days, asserting that thousands of secondary‑school students and many university scholars risk losing their futures and scholarships. The group vowed not to remain silent and to take control of its own future, though it did not specify the exact initiatives or participants involved in the movement.
