Acadêmicos do Tatuapé unveils Congo‑Kinshasa themed samba‑enredo

The samba school Acadêmicos do Tatuapé announced the winning samba‑enredo for its upcoming parade. The selected composition, titled “Congo Kinshasa: O Coração da África, a Herança Viva de um Povo que Resiste ao Tempo,” was created by a team of writers including Marcio André, Thiago Morganti, Thiago Meiners, Claudio Mattos, Shumacker, Wilson Mineiro, Herval Neto, André Valencio, Vitor Roblanco, Aranha Wilpz, JP Orlow and Tubino, under carnival director Wagner Santos.

The school released the lyrics and audio, highlighting references to Congolese cultural elements such as Kikongo, Bakongo, atabaque, umbanda, and ancestral symbols. An official launch event is scheduled for 8 August at the school’s quadra, where the samba‑enredo will be presented ahead of the carnival parade.
