Rio Grande do Sul hosts various cultural and Farroupilha festivals
Various cultural festivals and traditional celebrations are taking place across Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, centered around the Farroupilha traditions and regional heritage.
In Porto Alegre, the Acampamento Farroupilha at Parque da Harmonia has seen significant attendance, with 200,000 visitors in a single weekend. The event features regional gastronomy, traditional crafts, and a pavilion dedicated to family farming. Other municipalities, including Osório, Estrela, Vanini, Bento Gonçalves, Sobradinho, and Caxias do Sul, are hosting their own Farroupilha festivities, which include musical performances, parades, and activities honoring the Jesuit and Guarani legacies.
In addition to these traditional celebrations, the Mimo Festival in Rio de Janeiro is hosting a diverse lineup of international and Brazilian artists. The Rap in Cena festival in Porto Alegre has also announced its 2026 lineup, focusing on hip-hop culture. Meanwhile, Chapecó has launched its 2026 Oktoberfest, which will offer free entry and family-oriented programming in November.
