Acampamento Farroupilha setup begins at Parque da Harmonia

The official setup of the 44th Acampamento Farroupilha has begun at Parque da Harmonia in Porto Alegre. Following a period of severe weather and high winds in the region, organizers started assembling even-numbered enclosures (piquetes) this Saturday.

A total of 236 enclosures are expected for this edition. The staggered assembly schedule aims to manage the flow of materials and mitigate potential delays caused by weather fluctuations. Fire prevention and protection inspections are scheduled for August 27 and 28.

This year's event is themed “Jesuit and Guarani Heritage in Rio Grande do Sul: 400 Years of Culture and Tradition,” with singer Fátima Gimenez serving as the patron. The festival, which expects over 2 million visitors, will feature approximately 120 cultural attractions, including musical performances, workshops, and culinary showcases.
