Acapulco police officers arrested for suspected homicide

The Guerrero State Attorney General's Office has arrested two municipal police officers from Acapulco in connection with the qualified homicide of a man identified as Carlos ‘N’. The suspects, identified as Manuel Alejandro ‘N’ and Ricardo ‘N’, were apprehended following investigations that led to arrest warrants issued by a judge.

The victim's body was discovered on August 10, 2026, abandoned in the Unidad Ciudadana neighborhood of Acapulco. While the specific circumstances of the murder and the exact roles of the officers remain under investigation, authorities seized a municipal police patrol vehicle during the operation, which is believed to be linked to the crime.

The arrest operation involved coordinated efforts between the State Attorney General's Office, the National Guard, the Mexican Army, and the Secretariat of the Navy.
