Acapulco implements infrastructure works and reports tourism occupancy
In Acapulco, municipal authorities are conducting an integrated operation to rehabilitate the five-kilometer Cayaco-Puerto Marqués corridor. Under the direction of Mayor Abelina López Rodríguez, crews are performing cleaning, tree pruning, and lighting improvements, including the rehabilitation of 200 streetlights and the installation of 50 new ones. Future works will include pothole repair and sidewalk maintenance. Additionally, the city plans to plant 300 pink oak trees as part of a larger reforestation effort.
Tourism in Acapulco remains active, with the city recording a 47.4% hotel occupancy rate this past weekend. The Golden Zone reported the highest occupancy at 54.2%, followed by the Historic Bay at 51.2%. Across the state of Guerrero, the general hotel occupancy rate reached 49.7%.
Meanwhile, in the Veracruz-Boca del Río conurbation, authorities have maintained red flag warnings at beaches due to persistent heavy surf. Civil Protection has restricted swimming at locations such as Playa Regatas to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.
