Acapulco to host XXXVII International Mining Convention in 2027
Acapulco has been selected to host the XXXVII International Mining Convention from November 17 to 20, 2027. The event, organized by the Association of Mining, Metallurgical and Geological Engineers of Mexico (AIMMGM), is expected to draw more than 10,000 participants and their companions.
Under the theme ‘Mining, origin and future of Mexico’, the convention will address topics such as critical minerals, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and new supply chains. The selection of Guerrero as the host site is considered strategic due to the state's significant mining relevance, particularly in gold production, where it ranks third nationally in Mexico.
Guerrero Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda noted that this designation marks a return to the port, which has hosted the convention 21 times previously. Local authorities emphasized that the event will support the economic and tourism recovery of Acapulco by utilizing its hotel infrastructure and convention spaces.
