Acapulco Tourist Protection Center Deploys Patrols During Summer Vacation

The Centro de Atención y Protección al Turista de Acapulco (CAPTA) has intensified patrols throughout the summer vacation period to ensure safe movement, proper use of public streets, and respect for parking areas for both visitors and residents. Director Gerardo Ochoa Amorós said the inter‑agency effort involves municipal, state and federal entities, including the municipal Public Security Secretariat, Civil Protection, local fire services, the National Guard, and tourism authorities. Patrols started at the Paseo del Pescador and ended near the Club de Golf, where officials removed illegal “apartas” and recorded citizen reports for follow‑up.

The operation aims to inform tourists that public spaces are free for all and that charging for parking is prohibited, reinforcing compliance with local regulations.
