Acarlar Longozu attracts 130,000 visitors in Sakarya

Acarlar Longozu, the largest continuous flooded forest in Turkey and the second largest in the world, has become a major destination for nature enthusiasts and photographers. Following restoration efforts by the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality in collaboration with the General Directorate of National Parks, the 24-kilometer area has seen significant interest.

The site hosts over 200 migratory bird species and approximately 2,300 plant varieties, including water lilies and endemic flora. This season, the area welcomed 130,000 visitors seeking an escape from urban noise. Facilities at the site include a one-kilometer walking path, a restaurant, and souvenir shops.
