Acaso Cultural announces second-semester courses and Foucault colloquium

Acaso Cultural in Botafogo has opened registrations for its second-semester courses and workshops. A major highlight of the upcoming programming is the International Colloquium titled “Qual é a ironia do dispositivo hoje? Sujeito, poder e desejo,” scheduled for August 31 to September 2. This free event commemorates the 100th anniversary of the birth of French philosopher Michel Foucault.

Following the colloquium, an intensive course will be led by Italian philosopher Orazio Irrera on September 3 and 4. Irrera is noted for having direct access to Foucault’s unpublished manuscripts. The program is organized by researchers Marcio Tavares d’Amaral and Senda Sferco from the University of Buenos Aires.

In addition to philosophy, the semester includes diverse workshops such as Italian focaccia preparation, painting techniques, and studies on the relationship between cinema and painting.
