Acate and Acireale receive significant regional funding and municipal investments

The municipality of Acate has been allocated a total of 620,000 euros through the regional finance law. These funds, supported by various political groups, are designated for several public works projects. Key allocations include 200,000 euros for public lighting and energy efficiency on Via Roma and Via Umberto, 150,000 euros for covering tennis and beach tennis courts at the Pietro Bellomo athletic field, and 100,000 euros for extraordinary road maintenance on several streets. Additionally, 70,000 euros will fund a tensile structure for a school gymnasium, while 50,000 euros is set aside for school maintenance and air conditioning, and another 50,000 euros for road signage and speed bumps.

In Acireale, municipal spending has increased by approximately 15% compared to the previous year, representing an additional 11.7 million euros. Investment spending has nearly doubled, rising from 10 million to 19 million euros. Significant portions of this budget are directed toward school buildings, which saw funding triple to 992,000 euros, and the water network, which increased from 833,000 euros to 6.8 million euros. The municipality has also tripled its spending on hydrogeological risk prevention and more than quadrupled funds for the protection of cultural, historical, and artistic assets, increasing the allocation from 583,000 euros to over 2.5 million euros.
