Acate dedicates public square to General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa
The town of Acate has officially dedicated a public square on via Manzoni to General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa. The ceremony honors the Carabinieri General and former Prefect of Palermo, who was assassinated by the mafia in 1982.
Local authorities, including Mayor Gianfranco Fidone, organized the event as part of an urban regeneration plan aimed at revitalizing peripheral areas and providing models of legality for the community. The dedication included a plaque commemorating Dalla Chiesa's sacrifice, alongside murals of judges Falcone, Borsellino, and Livatino.
To ensure the involvement of younger generations, the ceremony was scheduled to coincide with the start of the school year, drawing participation from students of the ‘Capitano Biagio Puglisi’ Comprehensive Institute. The event was held with the collaboration of the provincial Carabinieri command and attended by various civil and military authorities.
