ACBD announces nominees for 2026 Youth Criticism Prize

The selection committee for the ACBD Youth Criticism Prize has announced five nominees for the 2026 award. The competing titles are:

• Le Buveur d’encre by Steve Baker (based on the novel by Eric Sanvoisin) • Luminous by Guillem Mari • L’Épée intérieure by Alice Monvaillier • Marly ou la neige en été by Emmanuel Lantam • Oscar et la fille de l’île fantôme by Christophe Ferreira

ACBD members will vote to determine the winner. The recipient will be revealed on November 21 during the bdBOUM festival in Blois, with the official award ceremony taking place on November 28, 2025, at the Montreuil Children's Book and Press Salon. The prize aims to highlight French-language children's graphic novels that demonstrate high narrative and graphic standards.

The committee also highlighted several other titles that were not selected for the final five but were noted for their merit, including works by Orbie, Gregory Mackay, Simon Liberman, Cyrille Pomès, Juni Ba, Melhia Martin, Vincent Zabus, Valérie Vernay, and Louise Aleksiejew.
