ACC football teams eye paths to College Football Playoff

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) currently features three ranked teams—No. 3 Miami, No. 21 Wake Forest, and No. 24 SMU—as they navigate the second half of the season. Under the new 12-team playoff format, the possibility of the conference securing multiple bids has increased.

Miami holds a strong position with a 95% predicted chance of making the playoff. Wake Forest remains within striking distance with a 29% chance, though their path depends heavily on their remaining schedule and conference results.

Other conference performances remain mixed. Georgia Tech secured its first conference win by upsetting Duke, while Syracuse narrowly lost to Virginia. Meanwhile, Boston College and Stanford continue to struggle with conference standings and defensive performance.
