ACCA engages Pakistan officials on public finance and education
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has engaged in high-level discussions in Pakistan to strengthen the nation’s public finance ecosystem and academic linkages.
ACCA leadership met with Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb to discuss improving the technical and strategic capabilities of public sector finance officials. The initiative aims to enhance financial management practices, accountability, and decision-making across government departments through professionalization and global expertise. ACCA also met with the British High Commission to discuss connecting international expertise with Pakistan’s sustainable economic development.
Additionally, an ACCA delegation met with Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar to explore collaboration in research and capacity building. Discussions focused on the accreditation of qualifications, the economic impact of chartered accountancy professionals, and strengthening ties between academia and professional bodies. The HEC Chairman emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and training in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence and digital currency.
