Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei announces new members

The Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei has announced several new appointments for its national and corresponding members, to be officially conferred during the opening ceremony for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Among the new national members are Umberto Zannier, professor of geometry, and Vincenzo Barone, professor of theoretical and computational chemistry. Luigi Garofalo has been appointed as a member in the category of Legal Sciences.

Additionally, the Academy named several corresponding members, including Michele Benzi (numerical analysis) and Silvio Pons (contemporary history). Several alumni of the Scuola Normale Superiore were also elected, including Francesco De Angelis, Francesco Panarelli, and Corinna Ulcigrai.
